They have a unique perspective/respect of Americans in Chongquin because it was near here that the famous Flying Tigers were begun as well as a 4 Star general (Gen Joseph Stillwell) commanded the defense of China from this city. The largest museum in all China devotes a wing to the Flying Tigers because of their success in kicking a lot of Japanese butt with the highest kill to loss ratio in the war. Within one month of Pearl Harbor they shot down 86 Japanese bombers while losing only two comrades. We visited Gen Stillwell's home in Chongquin which is now a museum.
